MALARIA

STATISTICS
Malaria is transmitted through the bite of infected mosquitoes.
This tropical diseases can be prevented and treated.
According to WHO estimates,half of the world population at risk of malaria,especially in a poor countries.
Every 30 seconds a child dies from malaria.

MALARIA MOSQUITO
Malaria caused by Plasmodium parasites are transmitted through the bite of infected mosquitoes. There are four types of malaria that infect humans: Plasmodium falciparum,Plasmodium vivax,Plasmodium malarie and Plasmodium ovale.
The most frequently infected species are Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax.
Type of plasmodium falciparum is the most deadly.
Transmission occurs depends rainy season,since mosquitoes living in the neighborhood.
Malaria mosquitoes live comfortably in damp places and swamps.
Some regions in the world has a number of malaria sufferers who do not know the season(endemic areas).
Hazards occur in people who have not been in contact with the parasite Plasmodium.
Danger also lurked a weak immune owners who moved into endemic areas.

SYMPTOMS
Fever,headache,chills,and vomiting.
These symptoms occur 10 to 15 days after infection.
If not treated with effective drugs,can be fatal severe disease.

TREATMENT
WHO recommendations:
• Treatment within 24 hours after the onset of symptoms.
• Use insecticidal mosquito nets given to preventing mosquito bites at night.
conduct in the house spraying to kill mosquitoes that nest in the walls and the roof of the house.
• Early treatment will shorten the duration of the disease,prevent complications,and avoid death. The best cure,especially type falciparum,is a combination of artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs).
