Leopard flower/Iris domestica



Leopard flower is a plant belonging to the family iridaceae.
Leopard flower comes from india,Indochina and japan and have a scientific name Iris domestica.
These plants are perennials and grow to the height of 50 cm-120 cm.
These herbs are usually used as an ornamental plant.
Leopard flower have rhizomes that spread and yellow with a lot of root fibers and oval fruit with a length of 2.5 to 3.5 cm with a lot of seeds and black.
Tubers of Leopard flower can be used as a medicine of sore throat,laryngitis,pheryngitis,tonsillitis,coughs,asthma,malaria,mumps,puerperal fever,boils,tonsillitis,skin inflammation,constipation and back pain.
This plant is efficacious as an anti-inflammatory,antipyretic and expectorant.
Below is a recipe for making herbal potions using leopard flower.
1.Treating cough and asthma
Ingredients:
• Roots of leopard flower: 5 grams
• Massoia wood(Cryptocarya massoia): 3 grams
• Betel Leaves: 2 pieces
• Patikan Kebo(Euphorbia hirta L.): 5 grams
• Water: 110 ml
How to make:
Boil all ingredients on top with 110 ml of water until boiling.
How to use:
Drink a mixture of 100 ml twice daily for 2 weeks.
2.Treating tonsils
Ingredients:
• Roots of leopard flower: 5 grams
• Fennel Fruit: 1 g
• Rhizome of Calophyllum: 2 grams
• Betel Leaves: 2 pieces
• Water: 100 ml
How to make:
Boil all ingredients on top with 100 ml of water until boiling.
How to use:
Use herbs to rinse 2 times a day.
