Fennel comes from the Eastern Mediterranean region(Italy eastward to Syria).
Fennel who has the scientific name of Foeniculum vulgare Miller can grow up to 2 meters.
These herbs are fragrant,bright green with upright stems and yellow flowers crown.
The fruit is ribbed,ribs with a length of 4-6 mm,green when young and old grayish after.
Fennel thrives at an altitude of 900-1300 above sea level.
Fennel contains a chemical form of 0.3-6% essential oils,fanchom,methyl,chavicol and anise ketone.
All parts of the fennel plant can be used as an herbal medicine.
Fennel oil is used in the pharmaceutical industry and also used for seasoning or used as ingredients that improve the taste and medicinal herb scent.
Pharmacological effects of fennel plants:
1.Anisaldehid contained on the fennel is useful to improve the efficacy of streptomycin for the treatment of tuberculosis in mice.
2.Improve the digestive tract and stimulate peristalsis expenditure fart(flatulence).
3.Eliminate cold and phlegm.
4.Fennel oil containing anetol,fenkon,chavicol and anisaldehid nutritious and soothing the digestive tract works like appetite stimulant.
5.Fennel has the effect of destroying kidney stones.
6.In animal experiments,extracts of fennel leaf decoction can lower blood pressure.
Fennel is efficacious as an anti-inflammatory,carminative,diuretic and anti-microbial.

Fennel can be used to treat some diseases as follows:
1. Treat gallstones
Pick 5 grams of dried fennel and add 1 cup of hot water,drink potions as much as one glass a day.

2. Preventing and treating impotence
Mash the 10 grams of fennel,25 grams Alyxia stellata,10 grams of garlic,pepper 25 grams and 25 grams of turmeric and then add hot water.
Then add 1 tablespoon of pure honey,2 egg yolks and stir until blended.Drink the potions 2-3 hours after dinner every day for 1 month.

3. To treat thrush
Mash the 15 grams of fennel fruit and 15 grams of cinnamon bark and boil all the ingredients with 4 cups of water.
Add 10 grams of turmeric that has been thinly sliced.
Wait until boiling,drink a concoction 2 times a day as much as a cup for 7 days.
