Diets to prevent hypertension



Hypertension is the increase in blood press constantly for a long time.
People with hypertension have an abnormal blood pressure at 3-4 times of different examinations.
Limit of normal blood pressure is lower than 140/90 mmHg,a person suffering from hypertension have blood pressure more than 160/95 mmHg.
There are two causes of hypertension,namely primary hypertension(essential hypertension) and secondary hypertension.
The cause of primary hypertension are:
- Overweight
- Too much consumption of foods containing high salt
- Stress
- Lack of exercise
- The habit of drinking alcohol
- Heredity
- The presence of other diseases such as kidney disease
To prevent primary hypertension is to go on a diet.
Diet tips to prevent hypertension:
1. Reduce foods containing high salt.
Foods that contain less salt will reduce the incidence of hypertension.
Someone who does not suffer from hypertension and want to prevent hypertension should consume 6 grams of salt or less per day.
Patients with mild hypertension would be better if consume as much as 2 grams of salt per day,and for patients with severe hypertension 200-400 mg.
2. Consuming too much salt can be neutralized by eating fruits and vegetables.
3. Caffeine
Patients with hypertension who are accustomed to drinking coffee,the coffee should not drink excessively(not more than 2 cups per day).
4. Cigarettes and alcohol
Smoking can increase the risk of hypertension and alcohol can increase blood pressure,so it would be better if not smoking and not drinking alcohol.
5. Stress
Stress is also a part of the hypertension factor,avoid stress by doing hobbies such as meditation,yoga,fishing,gardening or reading.
6. Sport
Regular exercise can lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of hypertension.
7. Weight loss
Obesity is the hypertension trigger,overweight people with hypertension should reduce their weight.
