Epidemic parotitis(mumps) is a contagious viral infection caused by a virus known as a Paramyxovirus.Virus cause swelling and pain in the parotid gland that lies between the ears and jaw. Epidemic parotitis easily transmitted through saliva,nasal and throat fluids.
This disease usually affects children aged 2-12 years.
In adults the disease usually affects the testis,central nervous system,pancreas,prostate and breast.
The incubation period is 12-24 days of this disease.

Symptoms:
Symptoms occur within 12-24 days after infection,namely:

• Headache
• Decreased appetite
